Welcome to Crawley Down Village Website
Crawley Down Village, together with Copthorne Village is in Worth Parish Council and is situated in the northeast corner of West Sussex close to the borders of Surrey and Kent. Crawley Down is close to the M23 and only about a ten minute drive from Gatwick airport, Three Bridges and East Grinstead railway stations.
Until 1967 the village was served by Grange Road railway station on the three Bridges to Tunbridge Wells Line which was closed as a result of the Beeching Axe. The old track bed has been revitalised as a linear Country Park called the Worth Way which now offers a haven for wildlife and valued trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The Worth way extends to Crawley in the west and East Grinstead in the East.
The website is a community project run by the Crawley Down Village Website Association. The Association is funded by a number of local businesses. This funding is then used to provide much need grants for local Crawley Down organisations. For further information about grants that we have given go to “The Association” page and follow the link you will find there.
The site provides a wealth of information about the village and its surrounding areas. So, if you want to know about the local schools, churches, transportation, amenities, sports facilities and much more, you should find all you need here.
The site also has an extensive photo gallery featuring up-to-date as well historic photographs. The gallery is updated frequently. The most recent addition to the gallery being a number of photographs taken from Crawley Down Cricket Club archives. We have provided sub-domains for the Parish Church of All Saints' and also the Residents Association (CDRA). |
If you are one of the many people who use the internet for shopping, why not use EasyFundraising. You can still use your normal retailers, your shopping will not cost you a penny more and the website funds will benefit enabling us to donate extra funds annually.
So far £250.50 has been raised. Our thanks to all who are supporting us. |
All Saints' Church Annexe Campaign
If you’ve used the old Parish Rooms at Crawley Down’s All Saints’ Church, you’ll know that their time is up. At last, All Saints' Church are selling the Parish Rooms and building a new church hall as an annexe to the church building. The church needs your help to raise the £250,000 needed to bridge the gap between the sale money from the Parish Rooms land and the cost of the new building. To find out more go to All Saints' Crawley Down Church Annexe on Facebook to keep up to date. |
